Learn the exploration rhythm first
Mina rewards patient movement more than rushing. Enter a room, read the enemy spacing, find a safe exit lane, then commit to short attacks instead of staying beside danger for too long.
Treat each new route as a learning loop: explore, unlock a shortcut or clue, return to safety, then spend upgrades only when they solve the problem currently blocking you.
Understand the four gear buckets
Main weapons define your normal attack range and timing. Sidearms give utility or safer pressure when melee feels risky. Trinkets shape comfort, survival, or build style. Upgrades improve the tools you rely on most.
You do not need to master every option at once. Pick one comfortable main weapon, add one support tool, then use trinkets and upgrades to make that plan easier to repeat.
Do not chase 100 percent immediately
Early completion pressure can make the game feel larger and harsher than it is. Save suspicious paths, blocked routes, and cleanup notes for later once your movement, map sense, and upgrades are stronger.
A good beginner goal is not full completion. It is building enough consistency that normal rooms, resources, and boss attempts feel readable instead of random.
Check your setup before bosses
Before a major fight, pause and ask whether your weapon feels reliable, whether your sidearm helps when melee is unsafe, and whether your trinkets support survival or practice.
If a boss attempt fails, change one thing at a time. A single equipment adjustment or timing habit is easier to learn than rebuilding the whole setup after every loss.
Beginner setup checklist
- Choose one main weapon you can land safely.
- Use sidearms as support, not as a replacement for learning spacing.
- Pick trinkets that make exploration or boss practice more forgiving.
- Spend upgrades on the problem blocking you now, not on distant completion goals.
- Leave exact cleanup and hidden-room hunting for a later pass.
